​On a recent visit to our cupola makers’ shop in beautiful Pennsylvania, Rick and Beverly filmed the video above to highlight one of our gorgeous American-made cupolas. As you can see in the video, the cupola sports a brilliant, concave copper roof. The base and vents are made from durable Azek vinyl, with a lovely eyelid arch above the louvers. It would make a stunning addition to any roofline! Not quite sure what you’re looking for? Finding the perfect cupola can be tricky: you scroll through stock cupolas and see plenty that are close to what you want, but there’s one or two elements that keep it from being just right.
 
Why settle for “close enough” when you create your own custom cupola?
 
From top to bottom, nearly every aspect of a cupola can be customized, allowing you to create a truly unique ornament for your home.

While the size and shape of your cupola’s base is impacted by the slope (a.k.a. “pitch”) of your roof, its design certainly doesn’t have to be boring. You can opt for a copper, metal or even cedar base to match the cap, or add molding to create a unique pattern. We now also offer clapboard (“shiplap”) bases on all of our cupolas! If your house has stylish clapboard siding, a matching base will make the cupola an organic extension of your home. 

The middle section of the cupola is referred to as the “vents.” They consist of louvers, windows, or a combination of the two. Choose from square or arched accents, even the number of panes for windows. You can also add molding (from keystone to dentil) as well as custom patterns on the windows. Our Designer Series of cupolas even feature beautiful star cutouts that reveal colored or copper louvers underneath!

The roof of a cupola is called a cap, and it has an array of eye-catching options as well. Choose from durable materials such as cedar, copper (polished or patina), or stunning colored steel. Their shapes range from concave, to bell, to straight - and even the slope of these shapes can be customized to make them appear more or less severe. Add an extended drip rail or standing (raised) seams for extra pizzazz.
